I broke three bolts off when I tried to take the exhaust manifold cover off. Two are on the same lower side and one on the other side. There stuck almost like there melted in the hole. I tried using vise grips after letting them soak for a couple days and there not moving at all. I'm going to use some gasket maker when I put it back together. My question is, will it be alright if I can't get those three bolts out and if not what's a solution. thanks |

You need to get them out as there is pressure in that area. I make up a hardened steel guide which fits over the broken stud to ensure the drill hits centre but they're stanless so you'll need high quality drill bits and lots of cutting fluid.
If you want to try the vice grips again, use lots of heat to try to burn away the crud and open the hole up.
