i have a dell quay dory with mariner outboard, need impeller, all i can see on engine cradle is 676b 40718, and on engine itself"67602" also y-1 ? means nothing to me, any help on year etc and where to find impeller, much appreciated

Hi lee,
That number, 676B 40718, would make it a 1980,that is if it was a 40EL . So you need to post the HP.The one thing is sure is that it is a yamaha built mariner.If Graham is looking in he will be able to give you the yamaha equivalent,he's the mariner expert.

AS Ian says take the impeller to a yamaha shop and they may have one,mid 70's yamaha 40hp.

will it be the impeller?, its been stood around 18 month, no water trickles out of hole~?

hi,i put electric drill onto driveshaft,with g/box submerged in bucket of water,and fire it up and see how much water flow/presure comes out hole where pipe normally goes in.make sure its in nuetral,and that the intake is submerged.saves assembling/starting/diassembling.that will tell you if impellor is worn or not.they should be clean/firm but flexible.no bits missing
