Hi, just got a 1993 75hp Merc and trying to take cowling off to access plugs, don't want to force anything but having unclipped from the front and pushed the sides back, I can't see any obvious way to unclip the whole cover to give me full access? Have workshop manual on order but would appreciate guidance on what I thought would be a 2 second job! Thanks Dave |

On my 94 model there is just one latch in the back. It seals pretty good so sometimes it takes a little pressure to lift the back up. |

Thanks, will have a look in the morning. Is the latch towards the top or bottom? There is a plastic strip about 3 inch wide that runs from top to bottom and has the 'telltale' coming out of it, is the latch on this? Thanks again - my previous outboards have all had a simple shell over the top with a latch front and back! |
