This motor has trouble starting because it does not seem to have a throttle idle lever. The choke works off of the remote but I do not see any simple 'lever' to rev the throttle to start.

I have to pull the cover and give a shot of starting fluid to start it and then it just barely stays running. Quits many times.

Is there an idler on the remote shifter?

I suggest you quit using starting fluid,no oil in it,no cyl very soon. Is there a button in the center of the shift lever? If there is,when in neutral push in the button, this disengages the gear lever and allows the throttle to open.

Thank you. Yes...the Ethyr is not a solution for sure.
I have looked at the obvious..for the button..somewhere..anywhere. I am baffled. Probably need to let an expert have a look.
Wondering if anyone has a similar motor with ..'the answer'

Some throttle have a deal where you hit a buttont to separate the throttle from the shifting. That way you can idle it up. Look for a button or ?? near the handle.

you should have a warm up lever or start in neutral

rebuild the carbs and fuel pump and change plugs
