Hello all. I am a newbie and need some help with my 1987 Mercury outboard lower end. I have had oil leaking from those two vent like things when the motor is trimmed all the way up. I just changed the oil and the two seals on the vent and other plug and trimmed it up and it started to leak from those spots again. Heres a picture of the area im referring to: http://www.boatpartstore.com/images/obdrive1.jpg it is the section between A and B and has those 4 holes with a screw on the end. Any help is much appreciated because i plan to go fishing toomrrow. Thanks again all! |

remove the plugs and ensure there are no old washers stuck in the gearcase...check with a small screw driver and then fill up the lower unit and refit the drain and level bungs |

I did that last night. It still is coming out of those vents. Not the plugs but those vertical vents on both sides. |
