hey guys just a quick question i have this 80ELPT merc mariner i believe the year on this engine is 1980 i pulled the cabs and usually i dip the carbs for cleaning but these carbs have a seal on the throttle plate shaft. can i dip or no? heres a pic thanks ricky

Not coming up on my PC. In general, the carb cleaner they sell today is wimpy crap compared to the "good stuff" of old. That said, I'd brush the body clean with lacquer thinner, remove and soak/ blowout all you can of the other parts, and put her back together. Jeff |

On the primary's (between the positive and negative pins) .02 to .04 ohms - so almost perfect continuity. And between the ground and the mount on the coil tower 900-1200 ohms.... |
