I'm a true amature when it comes to this type of engine. I know the 1UZ Toyota engines, but when it comes to my 4.3L Mercruiser engine I know nothing. I turn the key and i don't hear the low oil pressure alarm, nor do any of my gauges seem to take power when i turn the key. Yes, the kill switch is on, and the breaker is set to on. When i try and start the boat, literally nothing happens, I don't know if it's a dead fuse, not sure what i should look for in this boat... any and all help would be great, to add it's a chaparral 1930 and this is the first time i've had any problems since i bought it new in 1998.

Well, first need to make sure the battery is fully charged, then even if the connections look clean, clean them and make sure they are tight.

With the battery connected check power to the key at the dash, if not there is a RED 50amp(or higher) circuit breaker button on the front right side (left facing the engine) push it, and also check power to and from there, (testing both terminals) You may have a smaller "main" power wire that needs to be attached to the battery besides the 2 battery wires and 2 trim power wires.

Well, as I don't have that long at the cottage I checked every wire and some how a wire connecting the ignition fuse had come lose, go figure. I'm also impressed with the prompt response, I'll try and stick around and add what I can!

Do not feel bad my horn stop working, was about to take it to the shop, when I saw wire hanging from it.
