on my 1974 merc 650 the diagram i have says to hook the ground from motor to 12+ and the power out of the motor to the 12- is this right? the link to the diagram is http://www.maxrules.com/oldmercs/Wiring/1966ona/29.jpg |

That drawing is wrong. Looks like someone put the battery in backwards. Red is positive and black is negative. |
