The motor is a 150HP Serial Number OG724006 Model 199815OL. It has a Trophy 24 pitch prop on it #48825940A45 (Stainless Steel 4 blade). The boat is a 19 foot Biper Fish & Ski. It's hard to get it up on plane with more than two people in the boat. I bought it used. Should I be using a different prop?

That's about right. You might have to live with it.

You can can tinker with different prop setup and spend a lot of money or you can go to http://dansdiscountprop.com and run the prop wizard. Your RPM is showing your in about the right range however a 4 blade prop is a different beast .Use the wizard and fill in all the boxes and hav it calculate your best choice speed or power. I buy and fix boats all the time and have never gone wrong with the computers choice it takes in all factors like fuel additional weight type of hull and number of passengars. Good Luck

Hello Bill,

the rule of thumb is -is- for example a 4 blade 20 degree as compared to a 3 blade would need to be a 22 degree.
your pro = to a 3 blade would be 26 degrees
I believe with this you are over pitched and that is why you are having trouble with the hole shot you have enough power to run but it takes a bit to get their I would recommend staying with 4 blade
but dropping a couple of degrees

You are definitly over proped and the tacho pulse setting is wrong giving you a higher reading... your boat should have a 19p at the most
