Would like to install a charging circuit in this motor. It did not come with one. FastJeff says that I need the coil, rectifier and Flywheel to make the change, and I am comfortable with that. (thanks Jeff). But that leaves me with a couple more ??? 1. How can you tell a non-charging fly wheel from a charging one. I have three, one on the motor, one English(bad teeth), and one spare. All seemingly identical. 2. Can anyone upload some pictures of where these items sit and how they are wired so that I can put things "where they belong". I think I can find the proper place for the stator (duh), but... 3. Off topic, what is the difference between the "red stripe" and "Blue stripe"? I got lost in a conversation with some old salts about this. To avoid another fish story to find the answer, might as well air it here. According to "pipe guy" I have the good one, the red stripe. Stinky Cigar says it was just a color thing, no difference. Then they argue and you take your bait and sneak out cause nothing productive is gonna happen for a bit. |

The charging coil bolts to the upper bearing cap, and the 'wheel is the 'wheel. The rectifier can go anywhere. 3. Off topic, what is the difference between the "red stripe" and "Blue stripe"? Years.
