I recently bought a pontoon with 80HP Mariner engine and the trim doesn't work properly.. I can hear it run when I operate switch up/down but motor is not moving.. Can someone please give me some ideas? |

Hi,
Is the manual release screw tight? Oil level good? Could be a seal in the rams that are shot and oil is blowing passed. Can also be that the tilt tube is sticky and trim motor cannot muster enough power to move it?
How easy is it to tilt the motor manually? It would be heavy to tilt by hand, but should do so smoothly.
Is the tilt motor integrated with the transom mount or "off board"? Post serial number and we'll go form there.
