i have a 1974 merc 650 65 hp i think my distributor is bad i bought one off ebay and didn't work so i replaced the switch box still nothin but if i only hook up the black wire from the distributor on my motor and hook the blue and white/black stripe on the switch box from the other distributor and just leave it hanging next to the motor it will spark and start up but idles kinda rough then i'll take the old distributor off and hook up all three wires from the new distributor it'll start and run great until i let it sit for a while then i gotta do the whole process again to get it to spark but how is it possible for it to spark when both distributors are hooked up like that
