I have a 1999 60/45 mercury jet and with nothing conected to the motor except the two battery wires. When i hook up the battery, i get a small spark. From what i know about electrical conections this means something is hot? Wouldent this run the battery down?Or is this ok? I traced the spark to one red wire coming out of the selonied, when disconected the spark goes away. I also swapet out the selonied and the part the wire goes to and have the same results.Just need to know if this is normal for this motor? thanks |

This won't help for your engine, many newer items have a capacitor built into the system to level the incoming voltage. Once charged it won't require any additional voltage. May maynot be what you see |
