I have this motor and its supposed to be a V-6 150, but I would like to know more than that, its a Mercury Outboard Serial Number 5121349.
It has a problem with the power trim will go up but not down.
So two problems- serial number and power trim
Please help me out with this...........

well the trim down relay may be bad check that first thats the most commin problem |

Rick, that is a 1979 model, the first year the V6 150 was produced.
Not sure if it was called an XR2 "BlackMax" at that point, but that is what the model became in the years that followed until they changed the powerhead.
Yours will have 2.0L powerhead that was shared with the 135 horse... |
