I have a 25 HP Mariner I recently bought and was wondering what year it is. Serial # 695 S 009872 25 M on the shaft.
It is in need of a carb job and was wondering also where to get parts.

Scott you have a 1981 Yamaha built (for Merc) "C" model Mariner (manual start/short shaft).
Some parts are getting scarce because the model is a carbon copy of an earlier Yamaha model that they discontinued a little before yours was built, but Merc still does stock the available parts for this motor.
A complete carb kit (or as complete as what is still available parts wise), Merc part number 811038M is available for about 55 bucks from any Merc dealer.
