How much water should there be coming out of the 2 square holes at the back of the motor.Mine has a steady spray coming out of both. The water seems to be warm and the motor does not seem to be getting hot at least to touch.Any help would be great.

They normally spit pretty good. It's the exhaust that blows the water out of them.

Those holes are primarily for exhaust relief (reduce excess back pressure) but serve double duty. Once the water has circulated through the powerhead to cool it, it goes down the exhaust housing as well (cooling the exhaust and helping to act as a muffler) - the exhaust also blows some of it out of those relief holes giving you an indication of how well the water is circulating.

Warm water is ok and as you note, if you can put your hand on the powerhead without getting burned (if you can leave it there for a few seconds), then it's probably cooling properly.
