I recently noticed my 90 HP Mariner was running at 17+ volts when under load. I returned to the dock and confirmed the voltage at the battery using my meter. I tried replacing the rectifier but the problem continued. I then replaced the battery. It seem to fix the problem at first, but then the voltage started to creep up to 16 volts while running. While at idle the voltage returns to 13 volts. I'm looking for some new suggestions. Thanks |

I wanted to post an update to the high voltage problem that I was having with my 1984 Mariner 90 HP In line 6. Thanks to the people at Mullica River Marina in Green Bank, NJ I was able to get my hands on a voltage regulator kit (Mercury part number 88825A6). It came with very simple instructions and appears to have solved the problem. FK |
