I thought I posted this, but can't find it. Well, here it is again: After not running for 2 years, fuel additives to clean carb apparently didn't clear sticky float in top carb, so I had to take it off. To do that, I had to remove the oil reservoir. When I did, it slipped and pulled the feed tube from the reservoir, and apparently pulled the wires free from the disconnects. When I put everything back together, I had to find the connectors to plug the wires back into, which I did. However, now when the key is in the ON position, I get a constant beep-beep-beep. Engine will start and run, but beeps continue. I disconnected the wires again and no beep-beep-beep. It appears that this is a low oil warning and if so, I visually verify the oil level before each and every run. Question is: Is this just a low-oil warning sensor gone bad, or is it something else? |

Very well could be - the oil level sensor is a magnetic floating kind contraption. You may have broke it simply by removing the oil jug. If you feel confident that you won't forget to keep the oil topped up I wouldn't even bother trying to fix/replace it. It doesn't tell you whether the oiler is working, just how much you have in the jug... |
