Hi,
I have very weird problem with my 1993 100HP 2+2 on an 17' sportcraft. The engine start quite well and idle fine. The boat tilt on right side (even when I'm not on board). If I tilt on the left side (by standing there) the engine stalls (like fuel is missing(but is not) and is more difficult too restart. It does it on fast idle as well. It does it in gear too by just turning on the left (and it's even more difficult too restart). It never fails. Would you have any clue for me (expect doing circle clock wise)?
Thank you very much.

PS: fuel filter and sparks brand new.

Bad float maybe on the top carb (??) flooding out when you "tilt" one way as opposed to the other...

That's my guess for the day :-)

Thanks for the quick answer,

Do you know if it fixable or at least if I could check it without having to take the carb out?

Thanks again.

That's really just a guess, but no, the only way to check the float is pull the carb and remove the bowl.

If it is a bad or stuck float, yes it is easily fixable.

If when the motor is tilted, the float is not seating properly (or is punctured and full/partially full of gas) or the needle valve isn't seating properly it would cause a flood of gas into the cylinder(s) that, that particular carb feeds.

That flood would be enough to stop the engine and cause a very hard start.

It's not uncommon for a stuck float to cause your issues, it just most commonly occurs when you throttle down after running (or when you trailer the motor in it's fully "up" position) - I have never heard of a "tilt" to one side or the other causing it, but the symptoms do fit...
