I purchased a set of rings for a 1983 15 hp Mariner. Just looked at them last night. One ring looks to be chromed and the other not which would go on the top part of the piston? And what is a good sealant to use on the block? |

i would put the chrome one to the top,and block sealant depends on which side.Loctite 515 for between the 2 halves[crank side],and [the headgasket should be already sticky]so no sealant if it is,but if not,i use VHT sprayon Copper Gasket cement, also very good if using antifreeze on cars as well |

the chrome one is on top and having a merc 15hp you wont have a head gasket...use loctite 515 between the crankcase halfs. |
