Mercd.150 1992. Knocks when I go into forward at low rpm's. When I get on it it is fine. Also reverse is fine as well.Sounds like a missing cog or something more then a engine miss but not sure. |

Hi there!
Welcome to the forum! You'll find a truck load of useful info here.
This sounds normal, you should never ease the motor into gear, a brisk action is needed as boat motors do not have a clutch system. This is also for reverse action. Most pilots make the mistake of easing it in to gear and end up grating the gears, ultimately replacing the cogs...

Mark, grinding is normal on the way in, knocking while running is not. Remove drain plug and check for metal. Any metal on the magnet needs to be addressed or more damage is being done |
