I'm looking at buying a 99 Merc 125hp. Are there any common problems to be aware of for this motor?

The 125 was a decent motor - kinda the big brother of the far more popular 115 (they shared the same powerhead).
The 115 was quite prolific (and stayed in production until last year in the EFI version), so in general, alot of parts are still available should you require them. |

I own a Triton with the 1999 125hp mercury. It has been a great motor......I't has been stored the last 2 yrs, and now I I'm having water pump problems........guessing that I need to change impeller |

Yes, due for an impeller change, new gear oil in the lower, new sparkplugs and would run a can of Merc's "Powertune" through as well (just follow the directions on the can - 5 bucks at a Merc dealer - cleans the cooties out after storage). |
