Trying to read these numbers difficult, just trying to figure out the year of build.. |

Yes and No 
The 0B211xx is the 87 model.
In itself the serial number gives "zero" information about the motor. A block of serials covers everything from little single cylinders all the way up to V6's.
The model/date of mfg is not encoded. Often times, if a motor is missing it's hood/decal giving the horsepower then it takes some detective work to figure out what it is - usually involves looking through parts lists with the number of cylinders and the model number from the carb(s) on a scrap of paper trying to marry them up.... |
