Did you try swapping coils? |

Did you check out the stator and coil? Bad stators will kill those boxes. |

Graham, I installed two new coils before I found out the switch box was bad. I did new plugs, wires, coils and new coil ground wires, ran a test and found that the switch box was not providing enough power to # coil. New Switch box and it ran great. Now I am back to square one again, No power to # 2 cylinder. I noticed the loss in power after running at 3/4 throttle and then backing off sharply to stop at a fishing spot, the motor made a loud beep as if the low oil alarm went off ( no oil alarm on this motor)then I noticed I had major loss of power. Shut it down then could not re start. Checked wires with timing light, # 1 good, # 2 nothing, swapped wires, same. so wires are good. |

Bob, take JB's advice, but it is sounding like you might have a stator throwing wild voltage which in turn is cooking your switchbox. Only sure way to tell is test with a DVA equipped meter (or DVA adapter on regular voltage meter)... |

Update, Took boat to local shop, they tested the stator and trigger, good, ordered another switch box, this time I will purchase OEM, not aftermarket. Will update when I install. |
