E = Evinrude
8 = 7.5 or 8 hp
R = rope start
(no L so a standard 15" shaft)
C = 8 and T = 3 therefor a 1983 model
A = a production suffix

It'll push 14ft OK at least a 1984 6hp pushes my 19 ft sailboat.

Only recurring problem I have is to do with the grommet at the top of the water-tube ... same part on yours and something to remember if the cooling system show signs of blocking.

Practically all parts still available see PARTS CATALOG

May be able to order from MarineEngine

If you are happy with the little motor...give it a full service and change the head gasket

plugs now recommended are QL77JC4 gapped at 0.030"

L77JC4 also suitable if you do not want suppressed plugs

Owners manual should be available from MarineEngine
