I am just getting around to winterising my 1982 4hp twin evinrude outboard. This is the first one I have ever done, and I am struggling.
I have eventually managed to remove the lower cover, but cannot see how to remove the rest of covers.
I have traced the fuel line from tank via inline filter to what must be the carb. The fogging oil is to be sprayed into the carb. I would have thought there would be an air filter, but all I can see is a hole at the front. Is this where I spray the oil, is there no filter? HELP!!!!please.

No, no air filter. Many/most have an air silencer box but still no filter inside.

Outboards dont get used a great deal on dusty roads!

The diagrams in the parts catalog are useful for identifying the parts SEE HERE locate your model by make, year, hp and model number then select the section of interest.

And yes the fogging oil sprays into the carb air intake.
