I have a question. The lower unit on my 95 150 fast strike binds when bolted down completely. I had to replace the lower unit because of a blown seal and loss of lower unit oil causing the unit to destroy all of the gears. This is an older unit from a late 80s motor. If I loosen the bolts, everything works. My question is this: Is this lower unit drive shaft too long or could it be oil and gunk binding? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

its the wrong gear case
they were the same from 1979 - 1991 |
