I have a 89 Johnson 90 hp that i was driving the other day at wot and i noticed that the motor felt like it cut down on some of its power , ran OK but just a little slower, then yesterday i took it out and it took of OK then it started acting up, when i stopped the boat for a few min, tried to take off and the boat couldn't even plane out, the boat starts up fine and everything just seams as if it has a wot problem, but then towards the end of my trip it started to run better, can anyone help me please

Definitely check for bad connections and for 4 good sparks but also check, clean and reset or renew the plugs. QL77JC4 gapped at 0.030" now recommended type.

Inspect HT leads.

hey Richard.....Try this..
Next time out, pump the primer bulb up hard and hold it while you try to get back up to speed...If this does it, look at your fuel filter..fuel line to see if you see/smell gas...If the problem is still there, good chance the high-speed jets are fouled, and the carbs need to be removed and rebuilt...
