Does anyone know what the resistance value should be across the coil for my motor? And across what points do I measure it? Thanks in advance. |

---i would say,..that ign coil,is the least,..of ur problems,..what is ur prob,..no fire,..inter fire??unless that coil/or wire is bad,..ur prob,is under the flywheel...in central tx,most lg boat shops,wont even touch an eng,...in the mid/early 80's...which i think,is crazy...i guess they have enuf wk.......ur eng,...is a horse of a diff clr,...and takes someone,knowledgeable of its system...the last ones of that era,i wk;'ed on,was at least,25 yrs ago..and,i did'nt like em then,...constant ign prob's. i know this does'nt help ur prob,...but,..maybe,a lil insight,to what u r dealing with. |

The problem is a weak spark. I measured the coil resistances yesterday, here what I got: Primary: insignificant resistance ~1 Ohm. Secondary: 1.8KOhms = 1800 Ohms I read in some online document that most outboards should be in 3KOhm - 15KOhm range. Can someone tell me the spec for my motor please, please?
