Just purchased the boat/engine last year.Took it out three times this year.1st time engine ran great with the cover off, but will not climb in rpms with the cover on.Changed plugs, sprayed a bit of carb cleaner through the main jet, took it out the 2nd time and it ran great for about an hour, then the float stuck on me. I then took the carb off and cleaned everything. Float was sticking on far side of bowl, adjusted it, making sure the needle and seat were opening and closing how they are designed to.Today I took it out and it has a horrible miss when you try to feed it throttle. Checked the compression 100pds on both cylinders.Top cylinders spark plug was very black and powder looking. The bottom cylinders spark plug was a little oily looking, and alot cleaner.Brand knew plugs.Anybody know what I should try next? Thanks Jim

Exhaust leak under cover...blocked intake opening located in the area under the carburetor...cover touching one of spark plug wires???

Even with the cover off it still has a bad miss.Would my problem with the cylinders burning the plugs different mean the rings are bad in one cylinder?Or does this motor need a serious overhaul?Could it be some kind of problem with the magneto?
