Awoke a sleeping Starflite, was sitting for over 20 years, has good compression but cant get no spark. Got 12 volts going into the coil, checked output of coil with key on(Not cranking) with test light got nothing but got 11.5 volts with volt meter. Does anyone know the steps to go through? I have a dva adapter also. Has points with cap and they all look like brand new. (Moter had only about 15 hours on it before parked) Thanks Mike |

Set points on the high lobe so that a .020 gauge will pass thru but a .022 will not. Spark plugs removed. At cranking speed, the spark should jump a 1/4" gap from all plug wires on that model with a strong blue lightning like flame....a real SNAP! If no spark, try the spark test directly from the coil HT lead. If no spark from the plug wires BUT you do have spark from the coil, replace the rotor. |

Do I need to use a dva adaptor on my volt meter when testing from the coil lead? Mike |

OK, One thing.. I am getting a 12 volt reading from the 2 terminals on the coil and where the boot goes in. With key on. |
