I have an '85 evinrude 90 hp with VRO pump. I have had some problems with fuel lines falling apart due to ethenol, and when getting new filters, my local dealership advised that I should bypass the VRO and premix. Would like to hear any thoughts for or against this idea! Also, the VRO pump has appeared to work fine this long, and the motor is almost 25 years old. |

Well.. I guess part of that thought is, the VRO can fail at anytime, and you may not notice till the engine starts spitting pistons. VRO's are notorious for failing and recent problems could be ethanol related. I dont have any info on this, so you may want to contact Powerheadkit for more info on their NON-VRO Kit.. http://www.powerheadkit.com/images/omc%20fuel%20pump%20non%20oil.jpg Look for this "Fuel Pump Non VRO" about 3/4 down the page. http://www.powerheadkit.com/Looper%206%20cyl.htm |
