I have a 25 HP Commercial Evinrude, 30" shaft. SU25RSZ. It looks like a spacer can be removed and a new driveshaft installed (25") to shorten up the shaft in it. How technical a repair is this? I am a good auto mechanic over the years but no OB experience other than maintenance, tune ups, and water pump replacements. Is this something I should attempt? Thanks in advance.

It can be converted and not a big deal. You need the standard driveshaft, standard water tube, and standard shift connector. I think you could use this site if you have further questions during your quest.

Thanks appreciate that. Are there any Special Tools required?

No.. it is pretty simple. Just switch out the parts with some basic hand tools. Just keep this board posted and someone will help you along.
