I have a 25 HP Commercial Evinrude, 30" shaft. SU25RSZ. It looks like a spacer can be removed and a new driveshaft installed (25") to shorten up the shaft in it. How technical a repair is this? I am a good auto mechanic over the years but no OB experience other than maintenance, tune ups, and water pump replacements. Is this something I should attempt? Thanks in advance. |

It can be converted and not a big deal. You need the standard driveshaft, standard water tube, and standard shift connector. I think you could use this site if you have further questions during your quest. |

Thanks appreciate that. Are there any Special Tools required? |

No.. it is pretty simple. Just switch out the parts with some basic hand tools. Just keep this board posted and someone will help you along. |
