I had 96 88 and it didn't as far as I know. I think that started with the EMM controlled vs power packs. I think your engine has a upper and lower power pack. My upper went out once and it wouldn't get on plane but ran good at idle. My mechanic already changed stator trying to fix the problem but it didn't help. Hope this helps until someone more knowledged answers.

i'm thinking, that 93 would, have slow....it kicks down the rpm's,when an overheat situation occurs, and poss no oil to vro pump.

just wondering if you have tried another fuel tank. i had a problem with a new tank that had a piece of plastic blocking the intake line. sounds to me like a fuel problem. air leak or bubble bad. just things to check before spending money. good luck.

WELL THE PROBLEM FINALLY SHOWED ITSELF TODAY ON THE RIVER...BUT THIS TIME I GUESS IT GOT BAD ENOUGH FOR MY HORN TO GO OFF, SO I WOULD GUESS IT IS KICKING INTO THE S-L-O-W MODE FOR A REASON...I BELIVE IT MAY BE RUNNING HOT ON W-O-T SO I GUESS ITS TIME TO PUT A NEW WATER PUMP BACK IN, THIS ONE IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD BUT NOT GONNA TAKE A CHANCE, THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE HELPFUL IN-PUT
