HI i bought this boat and it was going in forward and reverse at the guys house i got home and it seemed to be stuck in reverse but moving realy slow i found this web site and tride the toggle switch thing green red blue with diode conected between the blue and green and got nothing so i am wonderin if i did it wrong or if something else could be wrong? any help greatly appreciated

you might check your horsepower again. But you are describing an electric shift which does nothing if the engine isn't running.(Add water!) Be careful farting around with that push button as you can ruin the lower getting wrong voltage at the wrong time.

Jeffrey..... Normal internal friction will cause that propeller to turn slowly when in neutral.

A 1966 200hp???

It is a buick 300 evinrude rogue 1966 supposed to be 200 hp is there a way to jump the drive to check the forward or reverse

Jeffrey.... You would better off having your post in the Inboard/Outboard section of this sites forums. This section is strictly outboards.

However, checking the L/U for proper shifting.... Apply 12 volts to one of the wires leading to the lower unit. If all is well, the propeller should grab solid in one direction only. Applying 12 volts to the other wire should have the propeller grabbing solid in the oppposite direction.

Hi thanks for your input thus far it looks like I need the forward and reverse clutch magnets I tore it apart and the wire inside were fried and melted togather.also I am having a hard time gettin the upper rod of any suggestion and then I assume that it will all come out? I will also be needing the cable assembly and gaskets if any? Thank you for your time and the help greatly appreciated.
