I have a 88hp V-4 SPL when I have it at full throttle for about 5-10 minutes the motor bogs and sometimes stalls, however I can get it to recover by pushing in the choke or I start it back up and it takes off. Could this be electrical or fuel, if electrical what component should I suspect. The motor runs great when it is running, compression is 127 psi all cylinders. |

Recovery with choke proves the problem to be fuel related. Try cleaning the 4 high speed jets. If they are slightly fouled, that would cause a slight lean condition. Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. i run a 1994 88....you can clean those jets in 30 minutes max using a jet clean out tool that welders use..they come in all sizes in a little thing that looks like a feeler gauge set but have little wires instead of gauges..you could also have a airleak or a partially stopped up tank vent..choking the motor is just overcoming a feed problem..could be anywhere in fuel lines or system..i would also add a mix of seafoam to gas.. |

it may also be time to replace external fuel hose(s)...replace with 5/16 hose..not 1/4... |

If yo have a ball on your fuel line check and see if it collapses when running. You may have water and crude in your tank that is blocking the pick-up inside the tank. |
