I have a 1992 40hp johnson. When it idles it runs fine. When you are going slow it runs ok. When you get going it starts to run bad. If you hold the choke in it runs ok. Any ideas? |

You've just described a engine with fouled carburetors. Clean and rebuild them. |

I have a 1987 40hp Johnson. The motor will not turn over at all it is dead. Ihave replaced the battery and selinoid. There is power to the selinoid no power out of the selinoid. I have removed the yellow wire from the starting button and checked to see is when the button is pressed there is power present. Is my problem the neutral switch? If it is, where is it? What else could it be?
