I have a 1975 115HP Evinrude Outboard. It has started faithfully every spring except for this one. I could not get the electric choke to work. It started fine with manual choke. I checked current to choke solenoid and it is okay. I took solenoid apart and cleaned it and also lubricated with graphite. Still the choke solenoid is not being activated. Is there something I am missing or do I just need a new choke solenoid? |

what voltage do you read with a multimeter from the positive post on the solenoid to ground with the choke activated electrically?i would suspect an open or resistance in the circuitry before i would suspect solenoid... |
