I changed the pack, thought sure that was it but still no spark, can the sensor coil on the stator make it not spark? I checked the kill switch also, its a 1989 150 gt.. any help out there?? |

Remove all spark plugs if you haven't already done so. Disconnect the large RED electrrical plug at the engine. Have the spark gap on the spark tester set to 7/16". Crank the engine by jumping the starter solenoid. Use a small jumper from the battery terminal of the solenoid to the small 3/8" nut terminal that energizes it. Let us know the results of the test. |

ok it fires on 5 cyls. #3 has no spark, but will do the same with the red plug pluged back in, that tells me the timmer base could be the problem, right? |

Switch the non firing coil with one of the good firing coils. If the problem follows ths coil, then obviously the coil is faulty. |

ok I started checking this morning and now all cyls. fire and it starts and runs, makes me wonder what the heck |

If this "running" properly took place after you switched the coil as I mention above, then I would suspect that you simply had a loose or poor connection. |

well I let it set for one hour and went start it and no spark at all now |
