Some are electric start only and some have a charging kit as well.Does the motor have a small unit with yellow wires going into it and a red wire coming out???? |

ok ikia no it does not have the wires you talk about
i have talked to a johnson dealer here and he said he could order me a kit but it will cost me around $300 bucks is thare a cheaper kit i can get he wouldnt give me a part number for the kit any help would be great |

you prolly gonna spend good money to do what you want to do...prolly as much as the motor would be worth when you through...there is more to it than just wiring a rectifier assy into it...cheaper just to carry a spare battery or run the lights off your trolling mtr battery...thats what i did when i ran a 18 hp years ago.. |
