My 1992 90hp Johnson wasnt running due to clogged and dirty carbs. I took them off and rebuilt/cleaned them, all new gaskets, now its leaking!!!!

Looks like the leak is at the rubber gasket on the lower float bowl. I tightend these screw GOOD. Also looks like a leak at the bowl drain. I didnt replace that O ring.

Is there a special way to seal the gaskets? I just put them on dry and tighten them down

Other than that she is RUNNING GREAT!!!!

thanks

tim

There is nothing suppose to be put on those gaskets. Did you replace the needle & seat and check the float levels?

I pulled it all apart again. The needle is dropped into the seat, the float sets level and will move freely as will the needle when you hold the carb upside down, I tested that before I put the bowl on.

The fuel is coming from the gasket, if you wipe it dry you can watch the fuel seep out.

I tightened the four screw that hold the bowl on as hard as I could this time, I didnt want to crack the plastic bowl before.

I hope this does it!
