i was wandering could somebody please tell the fuel mixture ,i was mixing 50 to 1 but smoked alot and fould the lower plug,and need to know how to set the fuel mixture setting, and the gap on the plugs.1971 einrude 18 hp |

50:1 is the mix and it has nothing to do with the fouling plug.Check to see if you have a spark that will jump a spark across a gap of 1/4" or better on both cylinders. The fouling is caused by a weak spark.Also make sure the thermostat is in place and working. |

50/1 is correct....use champion j6c plugs--.030
w/eng idling,...turn low speed mixture screw in till it coughs,then back out 1/4 turn,..usually gets in just right.due to wear,and condition of needle/seat area,..u can always 'fine tune' . |
