1990 Johnson 90HP (TJ90TLESB)
Just have a few questions that I hope y'all wouldn't mind answering...
1. Does the bend in the top of the shift rod face toward the front of the engine when re-installing - with the hole oriented to port and starboard? I've not turned it except for perhaps a half turn when taking the LU off.
2. Once I get the lower unit back in place, what's the best way for me to get the shift lever and pin back into place?
3. What position should the shifter be in for re-installing? Reverse, neutral, or forward?
4. My drive shaft is kinda pitted up a bit on the surface. Before I install the new pump kit, should I try and smooth the shaft up a bit or leave well enough alone? If so, how?
And, as always, any other "OMC/BRP/JOHNSON Water Pump" advice for this particular installation is certainly welcomed and most appreciated...... |
