Start with cleaning the points, replace condenser, test the coil. |

i know how to clean points. but how do i test coil? |

Any shop with a MERC-O-TRONIC tester can do it, if you have no spark at all.They can test the rotor and distributor cap as well as they are not cheap if you need new. |

The rectifier is part of the charging system and has nothing to do with spark. |

Do you have voltage to the ignition coil? If not, there in lies your problem. |

YES THERE SEEMS TO BE POWER TO THE COIL THE LINE TO THE POS. SIDE IS HOT HAS POWER |

Check to see if you have spark directly at the coil. Insert a test wire into the coil and have the other end of that wire 1/4" away from the powerhead. If you have spark at the coil, replace the rotor that is under the distributor cap. Let us know what you find. |

no spark at coil but power to coil tryed to new coils same thing |
