i have recently purchased a bass tracker boat with a 40 hp johnson (eletb) The boat has been in storage for several years,so i tuned it up and got it started. it was hard to crank and would not idle. i just rebuilt the carbs hoping that would eleminate the problem,but it still has to have the throttle wide open to crank and will not run at idle speed. if anyone has any suggestions on other things i might try i would appreciate hearing your ideas. thank you for any help. |

ck the compression,ck the spark..ck for water in fuel...if all ok,..i would say linkage & synchronization may be off,..or your carb job,is less than perfect. |
