I have been chasing this problem for a year, First while it was under warranty the dealer looked at it and put a new lube pump cluster in and it went away for a long time but now it back. Heres what I have done to check the system out. Pulled the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine and replaced it from end to end. I pulled the stand pipe out of the tank and inspected for clogging and contamination, there was none. I bypassed the water separator with no help at all. I would like to hear a few new ideas on were to go next. One more thing if you pump the fuel bulb it will work fine for a little while and then it will come back, its like it starved for fuel. |

yes,it sounds like fuel restriction warning u r getting...if your boat,has an anti-syphon valve,and esp,if it is ALUMINUM,..replace it.,your delaer,can run fuel withdrawal/rstriction tests for you...or,certainly should be able to.change the filter on the engine?? |

Thanks for the reply so fast All I have on the tank is a shutoff valve on the top of the tank, did not see any anti syphon valve. The boat is a 1996 Aquasport CC Are you saying to check the little filter on the engine? Mike |

The fuel line must be minimum 3/8" |

u may have a prob 'IN' the fuel shut off..yes,..ck the filter,on front of eng..this eng needs 3/8 fuel line all the way.u may have an overly sensitive'bad sw' vacuum sw.Is the eng starving for fuel?? |

Yes the engine acts like it is starving for fuel, like I said if I pump the bulb it will quit buzzing the horn but the light will stay on till reset the fault. I have all new 3/8 fuel line. Mike |

is the primer bulb collapsing, when this occurs? can u blow air freely thru the pickup in the tank? |

since it is 'in-fact' starving for fuel,i would say the vacuum sw is doing its job,and is functioning right. You may have a fuel restriction of some kind,in the OMS system itself(VRO),disc the fuel 'in' line on vro and back blow it seeing if something has gotten lodged in that section of hose,on eng. |

No the primed bulb dose not go flat but it is soft. I installed a complete new fuel line and removed the pickup in the tank and it was just fine |

It seems to do this when the engine is at Idle and wonce in a while at power. You can hear the motor slowing down when you at cruse but if you pump the bulb it will recover |

So run the engine off a portable 6 gallon tank to see if it is a motor problem or the built in tank /lines problem. |

Constacce and it takes about 5 minutes before the horn goes off sometimes longer. At cruse speed I would be going along and it starts to slow down and with a couple of quick pumps it keeps going. It dose not do this at speed always. Mike |

that does not make sence.......but,..i still would say ..u have a fuel restriction somewhere....the reason i say this,is it takes ALOT of restriction vacuum,to close the V switch,..it is hardly EVER,at slow speeds, unless,V sw is faulty,...in your case,it sounds as tho,it is correct...ck that fuel sw... actually,....i would start back,..at the eng, fuel filter, and wk all the way to the pick up in tank...u obviously do have a restriction...NOT an air leak.... |

if it was just slowing down,and u were pumping the bulb,..brings it back,.....replace fuel pump(oms-vro)....HOWEVER,....since u r getting the horn,.trust it!,...(in your case)..u have a fuel restriction /del prob..... |

Might want to make sure fuel tank vent is clear. That's the only situation I can think of that would trigger the alarm at idle as well at power. D |
