Think about it Daniel. The choke has nothing to do with ignition and everything to do with fuel delivery.

The carburetors are fouled due to sitting for two years. Remove, clean thoroughly, and rebuild the carburetors using complete carburetor kits.

the carb was rebuilt about 11 months ago but the boat was stored without cleaning the old gas. the motor would start and run very rough but know it will only start and run if i pour a little gas down in the carbs. do you think that the old gas would gum up that fast and do i need to do a complete rebuild again or just clean them out really good. any help is appreciated thanks

Try this.....

Remove the screws/bolts that is located at the bottom front of the carburetor float chambers.

In back of those screw/bolt, in the bottom center of the float chamber, are the brass high speed jets.

Clean those jets with a piece of single strand wire. You might be lucky enought to simply have a clog/restriction in those jets which is restricting the fuel flow.
