Hi everyone, Recently purchased above engine and found overtemp alarm 3min of idling with muffs on lower unit. Yes it has a pee stream. I was told by the dealer to try in a tank or body of water. Put lower unit into 150 gallon tank ran engine no pee stream, put muffs on in the tank started engine has pee stream, removed muffs under water with engine running maintains pee stream. Turned engine off 30 sec restarted and ran no pee stream. Removed lower unit inspected water pump looks good, no set fins straighten out with cover off, would say recently been replaced good rubber seal on the pump housing. looked up the water transfer tube looked clear but tube has a curve in it, grabbed a bore scope and inspected was clear to the power head. On the way back out noticed some dark spots on the side of the tube closer look the tube is split on the seam about 6 inches up. Maybe 4 to 6 inch split. My guess is this is where the water is leaking. Anybody change one before? Hope it comes out of the bottom??
Thanks for any info you can supply!
Tim
