I replaced my Lower and upper seals on my Yamaha 115 Hp CETO 2001 2 stroke outboard .. I cleaned the retaining ring gear casing threads and installed a new retaining ring as the old one had to be collapsed . When tightening with the thread chaser .. I noticed if I used the power bar and tightened it up tight as it would tighten comfortably without the fear of breaking something .. I noticed the prop shaft was hard to turn it had gained resistance from turning with my hand.. so I loosened it one notch (1cm of thread) so the washer inner tab could be bent flat and it has freed up .. is this normal or do I have something unaligned ?
