Won’t start after running awhile

I have a 79 35 hp Johnson starts and runs great until I turn it off then it will not start for some time always the next morning fires right up I am stumped any help appreciated

Check your spark when it won't start. It should jump a 7/16" open air gap on a spark tester.

Agreed. Sure sounds like a failing ignition component once it's heat soaked.

I have spark and compression I’ve been told vapor lock or non ethanol fuel anyone shed some light here

Clamped my spark plug to motor and and cranked it

That tells you nothing. You need a spark tester where you can set an open air gap of 7/16" which will load the ignition system.
